Great company to work for (before Avago acquisition)

Pros

This review is for Broadcom before the Avago acquisition. BRCM has been a great place to work. People are generally helpful. Good work/life balance. Great medical benefits. Good pay.

Cons

Now that we have been bought by Avago, the morale is very low. With so much uncertainty, people are losing their motivation. Everyday there is a new rumor. We are not looking forward to the deal closing and the new management. I do not recommend BRCM to anyone now because of the M&A. Up until now, BRCM has been a good company to work for.

Pros

Stocks are good, but on the downside the salary is below average.

Cons

No diversity hiring or inclusiveness. This being 2023 where every company makes some efforts to have diversity hiring. Employees are resources. Just that. They're not treated as human. The CEO is pretty clear and vocal that "we are not here you to treat you well, we're paying you to do a job". Toxic work culture in it's worst form. Employees are pitted against each other in a way that no one wants to do any KT or training or even pass on the most basic product knowledge. People behave in a very insecure manner. The management seems to think that people can be bought for a price after which they're machines to be disposed of when sick or unwell. There is not even a single female manager or a director in the entire Bangalore office. Women are very few, and the workplace environment is unsuitable for women. The company does not do anything to change this. This company is recommended to people who place making money over everything else and who have no conscience and do not care about having a personal life.

Pros

if you're into the stock market, the model performs

Cons

sales organization led by someone that's never carried a bag. first thing they did was get off salesforce, sell corporate hq, and move to nearly free tools to save money and drive employees away to cut costs. if you value work culture, avoid.
