Pros

The working environment is nice in the new building (includes a gym, cafeteria, activities like ping pong table and video game in the atrium.

Cons

The management team makes life much harder than it needs to be. Managers are constantly cutting from their budgets without knowing a thing about the work. This is causing the workers to have to pick up the slack and fight with management in order to get their jobs done. This company would run much smoother if half of the managers were let go. it's like we are back in high school with managers being in cliques. Only managers friends will be promoted here. Hard work will get you nothing at this company. They will use and abuse and then generally they loose the good workers to better companies.

Pros

Always different challenges Staff groups get along well internally and with each other Bonus structure and results sharing

Cons

The management of production is incompetent and truly hinders the company Poor equality in the workplace from a discipline standpoint (staff and production crews are not treated the same when mistakes are made) - Lack of personal responsibility on production side Long hours, frowned upon to leave at the end of your 8 hours shift Pay level is substantially under the national average for equivalent positions at other companies even in same region

Pros

Benefits are decent. Some good people on the production floor.

Cons

Pay is low for the physical work. Team Leaders are disingenuous, and lack managemt skills. Department heads are generally disconnected, disinterested and unengaged. Very high turnover of production staff. They preach "working standards" and the "Bridgestone Essence" but they don't "walk the talk". Pretty telling about the working atmosphere when management from Team Leaders on up don't follow the "working standards". The modified DuPont schedule makes it difficult to balance work and home life. Very manual, physical labor production. Not much in way of automation or working ergonomics. Little opportunity for advancemt. Very Orwellian environment. Every square inch of plant is on video cameras and mgmt. holds it over production workers like a big stick. Company should place cameras in department heads offices to see what they are actually doing or not doing. Mgmnt. touts Bridgestone as a "Premier Place To Work" but it is all talk, and talk is cheap.
