Good place to work. Friendly people. Have plenty of deadlines despite academic environment. Deal with professional staff, not just students or faculty.

Cons

Not the latest technology. People aren't aware of industry practices with regard to training , full range of possible benefits, etc.

Great way to interact with professors and further professional experience while still in school. Decent pay when you can get it.

Cons

Difficult to acquire funding, may end up working pro bono. Sometimes hard to measure progress without regular feedback and advice from professors.
