Pros

BU is an interesting place to work. Very fulfilling helping students out when they appreciate what you do.

Cons

Students often don't appreciate what you do. Lots of politics and backstabbing here. People are always looking for how to better themselves

Pros

This is the place that economic department offers relevant research experience to master economics students on campus. And you can get some payment to compensate your tuition fee.

Cons

Though the jobs are offered by IED, in fact, the research assistant job that master students get are to work for PhD students from economics department. All the mentors are PhD students in senior years who want assistant to help their research project or papers. The attractiveness of work varies within mentors. Some get more programming work while others may do very boring data work. The time schedule also varies depending on who is your mentor.
