Pros

The benefits at BU are excellent. Health insurance, tuition remission, flexible hours and amble vacation time, including intersession.

Cons

The salaries at Boston University are terribly low.

Pros

Members of some faculties are very good researcher in their field so you can work in reputable labs. Average compensation but good health care package including vision and dental. You can use the facilities of Boston Medical Center. Tuition remission is available for yourself or the family of the employee If you are international, they can apply J1/H1 visa for oyu. Pretty effective International SCholar Office. Very good location.

Cons

Research Associates are supported by the grants so it's a contractual job. You have to write your own grants to work here continuously otherwise it's a short-term (1-3 years) position. Parking is very expensive, commuting on green line can be dreadful.
