Pros

There is a lot of room to grow at Blue Apron, I have seen people work really hard and work their way up into management roles. Management and office team is quick to jump in and help when we need to get boxes out. I work in the pack room so it means a lot when they jump in to help me and my coworkers. Team atmosphere and free lunch every day.

Cons

Lots of overtime, but can be a positive thing. Lots of new faces because the business is growing so quickly, also not a bad thing. Lunch is sometimes similar daily but it is free and good.

Pros

No shortage of new faces. Very few positives. If you like working 15 hours a day 7 days a week this place is for you.

Cons

Leadership is lacking. Zero work life balance. Business model is unsustainable. When executive management questions a 85% show up rate and does not closely look at hiring practices and setting realistic goals there is a problem. Revolving door on middle management. Burn em out with promises of growing with a start up, then find a new warm body to fill the hole. Don't even think of eating the lunch they provide. Better food in jail.

Worst job I've ever had

Pros

It took awhile, but I met some smart, awesome people. The company has good brand recognition, so people were always initially impressed to hear that In worked there.

Cons

Horrible, incompetent executive leadership (though, to their credit, positive changes in the Exec Team were made with November/December layoffs). Communication between teams is almost nonexistent. A small handful of employee darlings have their ideas heard and are seen as brilliant when they are really cut-throat and throwing colleagues under the bus at every turn. Everyone is afraid to make a mistake so blame and deflection are rampant. Morale is the worst I've ever seen in the corporate world. No one likes coming into the office, and it's obvious. Entire teams are mass-quitting and departments are being outsourced. The culture is overall toxic and no amount of free snacks or happy hours can change the negative dynamics at play.
