Pros

The immediate people I worked with were great, including the managers. Smart, bright, helpful, pleasant to be around. The atmosphere was relaxed and generally not stressful.

Cons

Agree with the other reviews that this is a dishonest company. I felt like I was misled from the beginning, from promises in terms of what large initiatives (from an engineering standpoint) are being pursued, to compensation (If you are "lucky" enough to get offered RSUs, make sure you find out exactly how they are calculated and if there is any cap on the number of shares you receive). They did not care well for the people they laid off, including some that worked there for 5 years (almost the entire existence of the company). Senior management seemed inexperienced and unfocused on both the engineering side as well as the business side. There were meetings that appeared to be an attempt for transparency, but that turned out to be false sense of transparency in the end. CEO showed lack of caring when there was a large outflux of good talent. Something along the lines of this not being for everyone, and that is okay.

Pros

The culture of Blue Apron is undeniably great. I love coming into work every morning because of the palpable passion that emanates from my co-workers. Even if you're not a major foodie, everyone here feels strongly about our product, and the impact we are having on our customers. People here are smart, driven, and go above and beyond to get the job done. I love our product- not only do I use our service myself, but knowing that our customers get so much joy and satisfaction from cooking with us really makes coming to work that much better. I love the education and lifelong learning piece of Blue Apron, and I think this is what truly sets us apart from any other company of our kind. The potential for growth within the company is definitely there, as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort to do so. Nothing here will be handed to you on a silver platter, and working hard is a requirement.

Cons

The speed at which we are growing could potentially be looked at as a con, but as long as the company as a whole is keeping tabs and ensuring that we can keep up with our growth, I don't see it as a problem. I think we could be taking better care of our employees in terms of salary, benefits, and 401k. Improvement in this area will only make employees happier and more committed to the company.

Pros

The company is growing very fast, a lot of new faces and managers and supervisors who seem to care and listen to my concerns and act. Management is communicating and keeps us informed of all the changes and things happening. Better security and entrances should be better. Plant is being organized to keep up with growth and I see improvements, we have free lunches! snacks after rallys and meetings

Cons

There have been some security problems with lazy and employees (temps) who have come recently, but problems seem to be addressed by the upper management. Some see the changes as bad but I think they will help us forward. Getting to the parking lot is worse because we have to drive around the building. Environment is cold to work in and a lot of people don't care and are only here for quick money
