Store level management and employees are great to work with and are usually good at their jobs Very friendly co-workers

Cons

Compensation leaves much to be desired. Raises for staying with the company and "moving up the ladder" are insignificant. No regular schedule, every week, you work different hours and days. Senior management seems to be somewhat out-of-touch with the store level management and employees. It feels like the company is stuck in the 90s, or possibly even earlier...

Great benefits. Personnel ain't too bad there. People complain about the hours.. But it's retail. What do you expect?

Cons

The system at big 5 needs some serious upgrades. It's like we're stuck in the Stone Age. There needs to be a change in dress code. I understand management wearing a tie And dress shirt.. But the part time as well? It shows no authority. And the salary you can barely live off of... Big 5 has been around for a while.. I know businesses that are newer and pay better..
