Pros

Company moves at a fast pace and you will be able to acquire some great experience with a fairly big player in e-commerce. The company acquires many good, intelligent people at HQ and is always seeking new, "outside-the-box" idea generators. The company encourages hard work and tends to compensate at market levels (salary not bonus).

Cons

The company claims to project a culture of honesty and integrity, but I believe the exact opposite is true. Conflicting direction abounds. So-called company policies are executed on an arbitrary basis. A verbal commitment/promise from a SVP/VP means absolutely nothing. Paranoia prevails as non-compete agreements are part of the company's mission statement. SVP's & VP's are very egotistical, incompetent, and strong political machines. Only the CEO and CFO have any foresight into discovering and supporting new ideas and talent. No one can challenge any directive, opinion, or position of any SVP/VP as they will be punished (e.g. demoted, passed over for promotion, or fired, etc.). Manage by intimidation is the company's mantra.

Pros

Worked there for over 10 years and really enjoyed the people I worked with, not always for.

Cons

Where to start? Layoffs are still happening and remaining employees are trying their best. But upper management has no clue what it takes to get all the projects done. Darts are being thrown at what will initiatives will work, but more layoffs are happening and remaining employees are going to burn out. I wouldn’t be surprised if 50% of the remaining workforce is looking for a way out. The culture that was built from the beginning has been destroyed and the whole company is being run with fear. One individual is barking orders and the everyone else is just taking orders trying to do the impossible. The entire Bed Bath & Beyond rebrand was rushed. Wonderful idea trying to unburden the company from a negative perspective. But things weren’t thought through and it cost the company loyal customers. Many of the people making those decisions are gone, but there still remains a few and they are just taking orders from 1 individual. Anyone looking at the company as a potential employer should think long and hard about whether it’s a good idea because the 5th (or is it 6th) layoff in 3 years is probably right around the corner.

Pros

Great individual contributors and middle management. Nice Corporate HQ with gym and health clinic Cross collaboration with very intelligent people

Cons

They just completely ignored the recent results of an employee satisfaction survey in which over 90% of respondents said they are more productive working from home and stay here for the flexibility of remote work. The executive team is in the midst of identity crisis and just announced we’re all heading back to the office for better ‘collaboration’. In other words, they don’t care what we think, they feel it’s necessary to play the role of parent over the employees rather than be enablers. Possibly the worst Decision yet since the regime change from founding CEO to current CEO. Executives can’t be trusted and surround themselves with ‘yes’ people who create a toxic environment for all the great long-termed employees with deep institutional knowledge which is why we’ve seen so many tenured people leave throughout the past year. They claim ‘work life balance’ yet have unrealistic expectations of workforce management causing those of us who care about our performance to work long, stressful hours every week. Spend way too much money on getting visitors to the site with a disproportionately low customer conversion rate. Marketing is a joke. Executive strategy and vision is trial and error. The C suite revealed their total disconnect by rescinding the remote work option today.
