Exciting and Challenging Work, but at What Cost?

Pros

B Lab touches on best in class social and environmental standards. The work is dynamic and challenging with opportunities to learn a LOT in whatever role you have within the company. People are super friendly and willing to lend their expertise to help the team reach its collective goals. There so many talented people at the organization and B Lab clearly knows how to attract high quality applicants.

Cons

Salary is not transparent. We are told that our salaries are “competitive” or “comparable” for the industry, but we are not told what industry or role types we are being compared to. There is so much attrition related to low salary and little room to grow at the company. Wellness scores are consistently low while demand for the certification continually rises.

Pros

Great international team, interesting clients and lots of knowledge.

Cons

Poor leadership, inconsistent internal messaging, a lot of uncertainty, and salaries on the lower end. The company cancelled the entire department (and let go of 1/4 of staff on permanent contracts) without any prior notice. The workload was then transferred to Malaysia and other cheap outsourcing partners in Asia.

Pros

Smart and motivated team mates

Cons

Rampant sexism- women in leadership are actively pushed out or overlooked for growth opportunities, ineffective leadership, poor financial management- the layoffs have been consistently happening since 2022, lack of strategy has left most projects going no where and staff are often blamed for leadership's short comings
