Pros

The technology was amazing. Working in an environment that spanned telephones to software to servers was great. The people, like most places, are always the greatest asset a company will ever have. The pay was good...but at a cost.

Cons

Though the pay was good, an individual had to regularly sacrifice much of his / her personal life to complete the work (50 - 60 hours per week was not unusual for many). Transient executive leadership thought experienced and skilled employees could be replaced with almost anyone after six months on the job. This lack of respect for the people who touched the customers and products was displayed in the way they morphed employee reviews into a culling of the herd process....and ultimately the decision to outsource to 3rd party service providers.

Pros

Great people to work with, good work life balance (Subject to change in coming months).

Cons

If I wrote this review 1 year ago, I would not have a lot of complaints. New CEO = completely new culture. Unwilling to upskill current employees, they would rather lay off and hire new (and cheaper) graduates. Disgusting treatment of my former colleagues during layoffs (no notice, couriers showing up at people's houses to take laptops when employees were not notified of their employment termination) New CEO originally wanted us back onsite 5 days a week. I wouldn't be surprised if this idea is brought back again. New CEO keeps shouting about making Avaya a destination place to work, saying this repeatedly does not make it happen. Avaya is a sinking ship which I plan to hop off, I encourage people to spend their valuable time developing their careers at companies who will invest in them.

Pros

The company is going through financial turmoil and filed for bankruptcy twice in the past 5 years. A lot layoffs and restructuring every month. Nothing good to report.

Cons

Unstable company that has gone bankrupt twice in the past 5 years. Benefits are far below the industry average. High turnover and layoffs are the norm in the company. Don’t expect an annual merit increase and no 401k match contribution by the company.
