Pros

Fantastic co-workers and first level managers. Good place for an entry level to get real world work experience on the resume.

Cons

Extremely disappointed with CEO Alan Masarek - started out strong with what turned out to be empty promises; "we will be doing less with less". Massive cuts at the worker level but no product rationalization so we are left to do the same work with far fewer employees. Alan is no different than any other corporate leader; he is bringing in more and more execs at the expense of the real workers and taking on pet projects. Laying off US workers with experience and corporate knowledge and attempting to hire in low cost regions. The real worker bees of the company are overworked and exhausted. "Destination place to work".... that is laughable. To be a DPTW first restore work-life balance, then add the fluff like pizza party or ice cream social.

Pros

As most of the reviews state on here AVAYA has a very good portfolio of solutions and excellent hard working staff ( the ones that are left)

Cons

1.Top leadership team too focused on their own agendas and wallets as number 1 priority 2. They don't care about the employees - no rewards for hard work ie. pay rises non existent 3. Significant void in the pay gap between men and women 4. Sexism is still very much part of the culture even in 2016 5. Costs cut to the point now within the operation it's making it too difficult for employees to do the basics of their roles 6. Staff attrition and redundancies at all time high leaving those left behind to pick up the pieces as no replacements 7. Middle management zero autonomy all ruled by the ludicrous decisions from Santa Clara 8. Zero strategy , people drifting with zero direction from the top level golden dollar execs

Pros

No need to work really... just collect your salary. Funny place.

Cons

Planning is for yesterday... no long term outlook and very.. very... very.. short term look. Decision making is ridiculous, no brains, no planning, no care, 180° contradiction between yesterday's decision and tomorrow's decision... 90% of the employees are either stupid, unnecessary or simply just want to collect their salary. Products line is outdated, no place for innovation, no real understanding in new technology or in doing business. 100% of this company is politics and constant politic war between the organization units leads to ridicule, amusement and lack of progress. Different units are actually developing similar products which eventually never see the daylight... No clear and understandable long-term strategy for this company, it seems that the senior management enjoys throwing money on company-paid dinners than actually leading this company forward... Bureaucracy rules. You have an idea? - that's great... but how does it fit the paperwork... and would it need an extra mile from your fellow employee? if both are correct... you are not really a fit to this company culture - because - who wants to work really...?
