Pros

the pay is pretty good

Cons

Avaya leadership and executive management assumes that people off the street in India can learn in three weeks what it takes anyone dedicated full time YEARS to master. Its complicated work but those in management think it is easy as pie and anyone can do it.

Pros

The salaries are commensurate with other telecommunication companies. The benefits are excellent. Immediate management is supportive.

Cons

Avaya won a customer satisfaction award in North America only to get ready to flush it down the toilet as they outsource all their Professional Services to India. It doesn't matter that the American individuals have excellent credentials or have years of experience within the company - the jobs will be gone so that Senior Management can line their pockets and use the excuse that it's 'needs of the business'. Corporate greed at it's very best.

Pros

Compensation and benefits are good compared with the industry. Employees have pride and team well together. Avaya is an industry leader and has a proud heritage.

Cons

Executive leadership is completely new. Most of the new executives have a Cisco pedigree and are struggling to redefine corporate culture. Avaya's corporate vision is not well defined nor communicated, and there is too much uncertainty. North American business is lagging and many jobs are moving to lower cost markets. Unfortunately, the company is laden with VPs and directors who mull over forecasts and discuss Power Point presentations on endless conference calls, but do shamelessly little to bring value to the business. Customers are disappointed because the company is not able to spend money to improve its outdated systems and processes and it really shows. As a salesperson I spent 60% of my time correcting company records and trying to navigate internal processes.
