- I will have to share the opinion of the QA down below about the pay.. (of note, ive yet to receive a performance raise, so there is a difference in perspective) It is low, yeah.. But I'm not sure saying that Avature is garbage is fair though, it's a good company, its just the pay is not up to standard, but definitely NOT a scam. (besides, they straight up tell you how much you are gonna earn and how it will change while you work... and they do respect the contract, always) Maybe I'm giving away too much info here, but as a QA without experience, right now I'm earning the equivalent of 500 dollars, not much, but I can live with it. So yeah, not a scam at all, but low compared to others. But I expressed my worries to my lead and his answer was "Just wait for the performance raise and even then, if you are not satisfied, lets just talk again" so, at least I find that there is a door to communication, which is far more than stated by the previous reviewer (I understand that this comes from another team, maybe my lead is just the best, who knows. But I dont think anyone will close any doors, of course they can say no and then you just look for another job at accenture or something)
- When I started there was no real onboarding setup, and I'm pretty sure thats the case for other areas too.. I've actually been working on the onboarding for my position so at least as a QA thats not gonna be an issue and I can assure you of that, but consider the possibilities for other positions.
- Technical debt. So much of it. This may not be important for most positions, but for devs and qas? Yeah.. We are using 2 different technologies for our work, and we dont have the time to migrate everything because we are understaffed, so we end up having very old, scrapped together, tied up with broken ethernet cables "integrations"... Its a lot of work to get that technical debt off our plate and it cause more work as maintenance and constant fixes are required.. I'm half expecting to go to the office someday and find a senior dev fixing something in cobol while sipping on margaritas and using emacs.
- Our testing environment WILL frustrate you. We are working on it.. But.. It will frustrate you a lot. There is also a lot of people that just don't care or know to care, so its continuously overloaded with unnecesary stuff... Pixel are should be allowed tho.
