Pros

Rewards hard working No bureaucracy Everyone does its best at his job People is really nice to each other and share activities outside work Good internal mobility

Cons

Changes in processes, internal mobility and rewards are slow. There is no fixed career path and it's hard to grasp your own. On-boarding it's though Communication about the company's big picture is scarce.

Pros

- The people is usually very amicable and some friendships can be made, they are respectful yet friendly.. Ive got some filter issues when communicating yet everyone treats me kindly, 100% I care about my work because of my team. - Team leads are part of the team, At least in my experience and that of those I know closely, there is only a few cases of lead acting "Corpo", which makes the environment low stress unless there is a literal fire on a server. - Work from home 100%.. Nuff said.. I live far from the office and I dont like to go, yet my team never complains about it, even though they usually go to spend some time together - The office is amazing. Even though I won't go more than 10 times in a full year (at least thats what happened last year), it is just amazing. It has (at least in palermo) 3 floors, one dedicated to "the grind", one for ITIS and one for those who are more social.. There is also a coffee machine for which you have free access, a real one.. a good one, bar level. (plenty of automatic ones too tho, but thats trash, learn to make a good coffee please) - Free parking for those who go to the office, not that I care, but I thought it was important to comment on it. - Opportunities for those with less experience on the area.. In my case, I never had any QA experience, nor any programming.. In fact, lets just say that almost all tools that I'm using today I've learned on the spot. Ive never felt rushed to learn something, and today I'm given the chance to learn some more, grabbing on some analyst cases. - Quite a lot of opportunities to change position, my team is basically made up of people from other teams ahaha And they all seem to be quite happy with what they do and with whom they are doing it.. Vertical positions I dont know about, 2 amazing qas have been raised to senior for americas and europe status, positions created for them on the spot, so even though I dont know about it happening much, it does happen if you know your stuff, which is cool - While overtime is not counted as "overtime" (as in, payed for with some extra sweet sweet moola), you can still take it and then tell your lead "im going out early" the next day. Which I think is amazing for work-life balance. There is also 1 hour each day that you can use for whatever you want, usually its eating, or you can do like me and just work straight and dont take that break, working one less hour each day.. No one cares as long as you do your job, so its quite flexible.

Cons

- I will have to share the opinion of the QA down below about the pay.. (of note, ive yet to receive a performance raise, so there is a difference in perspective) It is low, yeah.. But I'm not sure saying that Avature is garbage is fair though, it's a good company, its just the pay is not up to standard, but definitely NOT a scam. (besides, they straight up tell you how much you are gonna earn and how it will change while you work... and they do respect the contract, always) Maybe I'm giving away too much info here, but as a QA without experience, right now I'm earning the equivalent of 500 dollars, not much, but I can live with it. So yeah, not a scam at all, but low compared to others. But I expressed my worries to my lead and his answer was "Just wait for the performance raise and even then, if you are not satisfied, lets just talk again" so, at least I find that there is a door to communication, which is far more than stated by the previous reviewer (I understand that this comes from another team, maybe my lead is just the best, who knows. But I dont think anyone will close any doors, of course they can say no and then you just look for another job at accenture or something) - When I started there was no real onboarding setup, and I'm pretty sure thats the case for other areas too.. I've actually been working on the onboarding for my position so at least as a QA thats not gonna be an issue and I can assure you of that, but consider the possibilities for other positions. - Technical debt. So much of it. This may not be important for most positions, but for devs and qas? Yeah.. We are using 2 different technologies for our work, and we dont have the time to migrate everything because we are understaffed, so we end up having very old, scrapped together, tied up with broken ethernet cables "integrations"... Its a lot of work to get that technical debt off our plate and it cause more work as maintenance and constant fixes are required.. I'm half expecting to go to the office someday and find a senior dev fixing something in cobol while sipping on margaritas and using emacs. - Our testing environment WILL frustrate you. We are working on it.. But.. It will frustrate you a lot. There is also a lot of people that just don't care or know to care, so its continuously overloaded with unnecesary stuff... Pixel are should be allowed tho.

Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about your experience at Avature! We are happy to hear you are enjoying your time with us and that you value our people, leaders, office spaces, career development opportunities, and work-life balance. Those are some of the most important aspects we keep in mind when providing the best Avaturian experience for everyone. Your concerns and insights are important to us, and we’re committed to addressing the topics you mentioned above to enhance the overall experience for everyone at Avature. As a growing company indeed, we understand the importance of transparent communication and like to share our accomplishments with the people behind everything we do and achieve, because we understand they are a fundamental part of that success. However, since every career is unique, Avaturians’ salaries are tied to their roles and evolve hand in hand with their professional development, no matter how Avature is doing. This is why we do comprehensive performance reviews to address each case specifically, just like you mention. We are happy to hear you brought your concerts to your manager and that there’s transparent and clear communication regarding such an important topic. Pros

People, average salary, nice offices.

Cons

They are modern day slavers, the level of stress you have to handle is huge, and when you say something they just say, that this is the way it works.

Hello and thanks for reviewing us. We’re truly sorry to know your Avature experience didn’t go as planned. While the dynamic nature of our company might come with a demanding workload from time to time, especially for customer-facing teams, we encourage Avaturians to organize their workload autonomously in the way that better fits their work-life balance. Managers and leaders should be available to provide the tools and accompany them in their path, so we apologize if your experience didn’t go that way. Rest assured that we will keep your comments in mind to keep making Avature a better place every day.
