Pros
A great place to develop your network with suppliers, customers and industry colleagues. At Arrow, field application engineers are exposed to a wide base of technology through interaction with colleagues, suppliers and customers. Take advantage of the many opportunities to gain professional experience. There couldn't have been a better group of professionals that I worked with at Arrow. There was a team like atmosphere at this company.
Cons
Unfortunately, local management does not recognize the value and hard work of individuals. Many staffing decisions are based on the "Good ole Boy" network vs. the value that an individual brings to an organization. It does not appear that corporate sees this issue with their field management. So local and field managers are left to make decisions with really no accountability. Bottom line, there is mistrust of management. Arrow, like any company, is trying to maximize their profits. They have been localizing services in areas like Colorado. So a customer in Texas may get support from a center based in Colorado instead of local Texas support as was in the past. The result if this is a continued loss of local jobs.
