Regretting taking job

Pros

Decent amount of hours provided. Not much else is a pro in all honesty. Pay is low for the job.

Cons

Headsets! Everything takes twice as long, stock shoved in to wherever it fits. No flow to stockroom anymore. Having to repeat yourself again and again just to tell it where your having to put it is ridiculous.

Pros

Shifts were relatively short, I suppose. That is about it.

Cons

I was so excited about working for Asda, but when I started I quickly saw it was not what I had hoped. I felt bullied by the staff. I was never properly trained on the till and I told the team leader I did not feel confident in using it yet, but was told we will come back to it later. I was put on picking and putting away stock for two months, then one day I was thrust onto tills without any knowledge how to work them. All the staff were rolling their eyes at me until I explained I have never used tills before and then one of the older members of staff said they never train temps properly and not to worry as she will help me. She did but her shift was soon over and I was by myself trying to use a machine I had never used before while the queue of customers increased and increased. Absolutely dreadful! Management was so rude and had no problem in embarrassing you infront of customers and staff for the slightest issue. Just made to feel unwelcome by all long-term staff and when asking for help with a task was sneered at behind my back by staff.

Pros

Interesting job. Strong business model. Some management very good. Good at keeping employees informed on business updates and changes. Progression can be good but only if 'personality fits'.

Cons

Regular workload and responsibility increases without real benefit- no promotion or wage increase. This includes uneven pay across colleagues at same level and doing same job. Very poor discount (10%) making it not worthwhile. Individuals 'level' is purely subjective- no tick sheets or firm levels to complete to progress. No care about ethics- environment, where product comes from etc
