Pros

Get to meet new people whilst working both employees and customers and get to give good customer service.

Cons

The managers I had were rude and horrible to staff. Very hard work and don't get enough support. Get hardly any benefits from working for the company. Not enough staff at peak times throughout the year, e.g Christmas, summer, therefore making it hard work for the staff. Not enough pay for the amount of work needed to do.

Pros

The people who I work with. The staff at on the other end when you contact Store Support are so nice and friendly and couldn't do more to help.

Cons

The constant short staff issue. Newer members of staff being given more contracted hours than people who have worked there longer. The joke of what your ment to get in a week. (Add-ons, Product Care and E-recipits). It's a joke. The bar is set far to high. The newer members of staff having more hours in a week than people who have been working there for a longer period of time. The contracted hours do not get upped after the 6 month trial period. When you get a voucher the voucher is not specified on the tills. That we get more discount at Homebase than at the company who actually hired us. The discount is rubbish 10% isn't enough. We where told about Argos Academy yet nothing has been done. If you want to do it the answer shouldn't be that if you do everything that's expected e.g. Add-ons, E-recipits and product care and more then they will be able to do the Argos Academy.

Pros

All colleagues are friendly and make you feel welcome. All staff at every level are willing to help you with any queries or problems you have. The work place has a vibrant atmosphere, and somewhere that encourages you to interact with all people, staff and customers alike. There is a management trainee scheme but at the moment I have not worked there long enough to comment on how quickly you could progress.

Cons

Open door training system is tedious but has to be completed along with all quizzes to show understanding.
