Toxic Culture

Pros

Good pay, lots of opportunity to learn since you are required to do 5 people’s jobs to be successful

Cons

Absolutely horrid and toxic environment, senior management shooting from the hip in all aspects. They come up with these seemingly random new ideas and everyone has to jump to make them happen without senior management even trialing it at a brewery to see if it works. Then 3 months later it has completely changed again. People who are known to be ABUSIVE at work are just ignored with “that’s just the culture” as a response. Complete lack of diversity, all women quitting because they have self respect and many opportunities at companies where they won’t be treated like secretaries or little girls - yet somehow do all the work.

Pros

The Pro of working at ABI is that the company is driven towards innovation and almost in every aspect ! They are hiring a lot of talent from Tier 1 and Tier 2 colleges and universities in India. There is a lot of young talented crowd and the intention to be the best beer company in the world is everywhere.

Cons

The job is very very risky. You never know when the pink slip will be shared with you. The standard methodology is to push the hard workers who have got great rating previous fiscal year with impossible to reach targets for the next year and then drown them down the drain if the targets are not met. They are very very brutal, especially in GCC ( Global Capability Center India ) Bangalore offices. Work is fun with lot of activities otherwise. But the Core Value Principles that are spoken all the time are NEVER practiced, especially Respect People and their Values.

Pros

Free beer Interesting products Well known company

Cons

80-90 hour work weeks are not uncommon. The business is getting more complex with fewer and fewer resources. Constant turnover and reorgs. Many employees are pushed out through a forced ranking system. Most of the work is tactical as there is not any support staff, even at the director level. Unless you’re young, single, globally mobile, and willing to sacrifice a few years of your personal life, don’t work here.
