A once great company has now fallen

Pros

Excellent mission, excellent compensation, excellent benefits, great work/life balance

Cons

The newly hired c-level leadership knows very little about the business. I believe the c-level leadership has sold a bad bill of goods to the CEO and board of directors. Destroying highly profitable business unites, and laying off employees who were bringing in significant revenue for the business is the definition of biting the hand that feeds you. It's quite unbelievable. So many valuable employees, who legitimately lived the mission, and added much value to the organization have been laid-off, with little rhyme or reason. And again, highly profitable areas of the business are "no longer in the business plan for 2024". The executive decisions make no sense.

Pros

Andela offers a competitive Total Compensation (TC) package, ensuring that its employees are well-compensated (at least in the US). Moreover, the challenging environment at Andela, while demanding, presents unique learning opportunities. When team members step up to assist and guide their colleagues, the depth of knowledge and experience shared can significantly accelerate one's career growth, even beyond the confines of Andela. This camaraderie amidst adversity often leads to invaluable professional development.

Cons

Dive into the intricate maze of Andela, a company where leadership appears to be an afterthought. From misaligned expectations to a glaring lack of constructive feedback, employees often find themselves navigating a tumultuous sea of uncertainty. With opaque decisions from the top and a propensity to push employees to the brink of burnout, Andela's approach to role transitions and overall transparency leaves much to be desired.

Pros

Competitive and very attractive salary at least in the previous FY, now they are looking into each cent.

Cons

One of the most unsafe environments that I ever worked in. When you start working here, everything seems to be good and smooth, they talk about empowering diversity, and that all of us have equal opportunities, but the reality is completely the opposite. I have found here very noxious people, leads without experience, and zero ethic that exposes their teams trying to save their backside, racist people, very US-centric, no taking into consideration differences between timezones, no work-life balance if you live outside the US, aggressive internal stakeholders in a very bad way, at the point to even looking down on peers or other team members with very unrespectful behavior. If you tried to escalate any of this to HR.... they will just apply the policy of "don't air your dirty laundry", after that you can wait for the consequences. Avoid this company if you can, your mental health can be compromised.
