Honestly, looking over previous reviews they are all appropriately true, not scorned employees but actual truths. The c-suite of Andela has positioned the company to seem as if it is grounded in support of equaling the reach of talent, when it is truly appropriating talent. While working with Andela much of what I thought they were pioneers in, from what they were claiming, like: "We provide the data and tools you need to quantify output and understand the impact." There are systems that are white-labeled that do this, so what are you claiming? Here are some other statements any candidate or investor should take a much deeper dive into:
"Andela invests in Africa’s most talented software engineers",
Question: Are the engineers required to pay anything in return to work with Andela since your investing into them?
"With thousands of data points on each of our developers, and hundreds of successful placements to date, we match you with the right engineers for your team."
Question: How can you have that many developers available and ready to partner on a team?
"How we develop developers, The world needs more great software developers. We already figured out what it takes to create them. "
Question: You create talent?
Honestly, I could go on and on but allow me to close with. My largest and the most egregious fact about Andela is somehow, (I was so shocked at what I witnessed durning my time with Andela), this company which allows statements of it being an African company, does not value the Black or African Americans within the company and has made it very obvious that there is a limited amount of growth for them in the work place. Just take a look into the US operations.
