Pros

Not a bad first job for an individual hoping to develop managerial competencies.

Cons

Very systems oriented, does not foster individual thought or innovation. The rigidity of upper management leads individuals to become apathetic towards their job.

Pros

Upon my hiring date at acc I had some promises made to me by managment regarding growth opportunities, imagine my surprise when they were actually kept. The pay is good, the hours sometimes long but i love the challenge. ALMOST everyone from the leasing staff all the way to the upper faucilities management team in texas has been helpfull, supportive. Overall I would recomnd this company to anyone who is intrested in long term employment with a great company that truly values its employees and helps to cultivate a job into a career. I love my job!!!!!

Cons

some mid level area managment that has forgot we are a team and instead has focused on saving there own a## and making sure there buddies that are company vendors get a paycheck

Pros

As the headline states, this position is an easy going summer job that provides you with your own room in the dorms and meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the entire summer. I worked with a great team, friendly, outgoing and willing to help each other if we could not or had plans during our shift. The property manager knows what it's like to be a student, stays out of your hair and communicates with you only on a need to know basis. He's pretty relaxed himself.

Cons

Not many in comparison to the benefits you receive from working here. The biggest problems come from the groups that stay in the building over the summer. Some feel that in a dorm they should receive service on par with a hotel when dorms aren't really set up for that. There are times when you wish you received more information from the property mgr. as groups come to you saying they were promised this and that service. There are also the work shifts. The worst On Call is Saturday, because unlike any other shift you are inside ALL DAY for 12hrs. This can be killer in the summer time when you want to hit the beach or do any other daytime activities. Desk shifts from in the obscene late night hours can be hard on your sleeping habits, but you make it through with an internet movie or two. Sometimes you feel the on duty shifts get in the way of your personal life, but so will most other jobs in your life. This is still a very relaxed job/work environment. These are CONS almost anyone would accept for a summer.
