Pros

There are no Pros with this Micro managed disrespectful company. I'd love to call out names in that place to let Jeff Bezos see what he did not see when he visited the place.

Cons

Good people leaver this place due to their lack of COMMUNICATIONS and poor review raises. They give you a sign on bonus and hold it against in the future to not give you a raise. They are very disrespectful if you are not management. That is the problem right there management. Blind leading the bind. The manufacturing floor are treated as slaves with no APPRECIATION. Watch after I wrote this you will see someone inside there counter to what I wrote. Amazon I bet you know who this is writing this. Please Glass door do not ask me for anymore opinions of this place. If you are not on a prescription drug. Working there you will be, mentally destroyed. I cannot wait to run into one of them. I then can embarrass the hell out of them and I do not care where I am at.

Pros

The outlook they present to the outside world. Cool technology and some really smart people. Free beer on Friday if you are lucky to finish work by 4:30.

Cons

The real world that is present inside the company. Unethical company that cannot keep its promises made to employees. Forget promises, it's hard to even keep/retain its employees. Work life balance is a joke. I've heard even folks at amazon Seattle stopped complaining for the kind of work environment here. Unhealthy competition and mudslinging peers only breeds politics, blame game and hatred. It is by no means team building. They bs a lot about amazon leadership principles and expect the employees only to follow them while they can break them.

Pros

There are a lot of intelligent, hard-working, energetic Kivans at the individual contributor level. The robots are fun, and the culture can be moderately rewarding at times.

Cons

While there are some managers that don't apply to the following statement, overall this is the worst management team I have ever worked for. The decision making process is embarrassing, and leads to substantial amounts of problems and product quality issues. A culture of poor decision-making has led to habitual work/life balance issues amongst key contributors who work long hours in order to fix the problems made by poor decisions. In many cases, this is the only reason that deliverables are met on time. This has led to burnt out talent leaving the company more and more frequently, increasing the impact of poor decision making. Inter-departmental communication is virtually non-existent, or diminished to email exchanges that add/remove key personnel on a whim. In the exhausting amount of time I have been at Kiva, I have seen very little evidence of accountability for middle management, most of which is pushed off to the talent. The end result is the loss of a talented person who is of value while retaining the initial problem to begin with. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with such interesting technology, but I've come to feel that as my first job out of college my future endeavors will be in spite of what I've experienced here as opposed to a result of it.
