Pros

Amazon pays well. Kiva sucks!

Cons

Knuckle dragging thugs run the Operations and Manufacturing teams (teams???). Upper management is complacent and part of the problems. Stock obsessed managers will do anything to keep there status. Lie, bully, and pressure their employees. So many good, hard working people have left. You put in long hours and accomplish the nearly immpossible and still have your job threatened. It's not worth the pain and stress. Look elsewhere. Check out the real reviews below. The "Good" ones are written at gun point from fearful employees that management encourages to post.

Pros

Amazon backed, money/benefits were fantastic, peers were awesome to work with. High intelligence and great work ethics. When it was fun, it was great!

Cons

Managers! Tough to work with and for. Culture almost accepted bullying tactics by management as proper. Burn out is high. Vacation policy is unlimited, but you were left feeling guilty if you took a day off. "who's covering for you? Will you still be accessible by cell? Make sure you give me a complete report before you leave of what you are working on, where it stands who is handling what?" Really just for taking a Friday off?

Pros

- The engineers and scientists are top-notch, and the projects are often new and original. - Some of the managers I had there were wonderful both as managers and as technical contributors. - The work-life balance is entirely reasonable.

Cons

Senior management refuses to make any decisions, either changing their minds every few months or just refusing to commit to anything specific. Some projects run on life-support for years and years despite making no progress; other promising ones get cut after a few months because their executive sponsors lost a turf war. Specifications change all the time on the whims from management, often requiring starting from scratch. The company hired very aggressively one year, then realized they overcommitted and instituted a hiring freeze the next. They set up a satellite office in Westborough but never bothered to move any significant projects or teams there, so it's mostly empty. They have literally no space left in the North Reading location, but they have no plans to expand or relocate despite having talked about it for years. They continually talk about bringing more research projects from Amazon to Amazon Robotics, but they refuse to put any staff or funding on them.
