Pros

Kiva is growing by 4x as a subsidiary of Amazon. We are innovating daily and moving fast to revolutionize the way orders are fulfilled. The team is passionate and committed. Kiva cares about its people. Benefits are excellent. Lots of fun events and daily free cereal, soda and coffee and snacks. Still has a small company, start-up feel. Career growth includes ability to move globally within Amazon. Great place to work if you don't mind working hard.

Cons

Sometimes the pace is too intense and there are points during the year when burnout is a risk. Peak is tough.

Pros

There is opportunity in chaos if you work the system.

Cons

There are those who press forward hack something together and get the recognition compensation and advancement. Then there are those that clean up the mess of the first group who are invisible. Hard work doesn't pay off here.

Pros

Very smart people at the individual contributor level.

Cons

Management has lost control of the development process. They're floundering. Most of the time, they just pander to Amazon. The staff pays the price with killer hours, little or no vacation. No appreciation. Company is designed for engineers with no life, no girlfriends, no wives, no kids. If you're willing to work 60+ hours a week, then you get to keep your job. Project planning is awful. Management ALWAYS blames employees when things go wrong even though the underlying cause is poor planning. If an employee can't make up for the poor plan, they get a bad review. Very political company.
