Pros

Not much to say about this.

Cons

You'll rot away there if you're not best friends with the right people.

Pros

Very few pros other than a steady paycheck, and fairly generous benefits.

Cons

You will never make much more than the starting salary. They will lure you in with promises of easy advancement, which is a complete lie. There is very little room for advancement in the Birmingham office, and management will only move the people that they are personal friends with forward. You get yearly reviews, but you will never get more than a 3% raise. Average is 2%, but they will do everything to keep you below that... and with inflation the way it is right now, that means you are getting an annual pay cut. Micromanagement is beyond absurd... like, your time is managed down to the minute kind of absurd. You will be told "as long as you are doing the right thing, metrics don't matter", but that is a lie. When it comes review time, the only thing that matters are the black and white numbers, no excuses. Because of this, nobody wants to work claims properly, and if you do your job properly, you are putting yourself at risk for a bad performance review. Sick leave attendance policy is beyond cruel. If you have to be out sick, you are plac ing your job in jeopardy. PTO, including sick time, is based on a pool of available hours. Everyone is stressed out, and the pool is pretty much depleted weeks in advance because people just want a day off to not think about their awful low-paying stress-filled jobs, and because of this - calling in sick, sudden emergency, being out to take care of a sick kid, etc. will earn you an "occurrence", regardless if you have PTO time to use. 5 occurrences in a rolling year, and you are fired.

Pros

The amount of PTO (paid time off) seems above average compared to other companies. You can work remotely if your team is ok with that. Other non health related benefits are ok.

Cons

Pay is noticeably below market rates and pretty much stagnant unless you get a promotion. Depending on your department, there may be little to no upwards mobility promotion-wise, regardless of how well you perform. Depending on your department, you may be expected to sometimes put in extra hours such as during the evening or sometimes during the weekend.
