Pros

If there is no other option, Allied Universal does pay. Just not much.

Cons

Horrible hiring structure. Horrible pay for officers. Horrible schedules. Horrible all around. This company only cares about fulfilling contracts with clients as cheaply as possible.

Pros

Depending on where your post is, you day can look very different. Currently I'm working at a very low key, quiet community at their guard shack. It's very minimal in terms of what's expected. Minimal stress, and plenty of free time depending on what time of day you work. Nights are naturally slow and give me plenty of time to work on my HW for my online classes. Ultimately, I recommend it. It's a job, it pays bills. Some posts have a higher rate of pay than others and the pay is not bad considering how minimal the work is. Realistically, given the work load I wouldn't expect anyone to get paid more than 19/hr yet I'm getting paid as much an entry level CNA without the schooling or costs of education. Ofcourse a guard card is required and they can help you through that process.

Cons

Ironically, across all security companies, communication seems to be a struggle from base employees to upper management. Also, the security industry attracts all kinds of people, both good and bad, young and old, so just be careful and mindful of who you are working with. Most of the time, depending on the post, you will be working alone regardless.
