      No Engineering Culture, Massive Politics

      New office is nice, no on-call

      Directionless, blameful management - if you're looking for a modern engineering culture and environment this is not it. Heavy reliance on performance management and hands-off management in the worst way. Additionally, the politics in the R&D department are ever present, with each director or manager employing shady tactics and practices to get their motives accomplished. 'Global' organization is massively fractured and projects are prioritized for certain regions over others. RTP currently is a ticket help-desk, with no real time or bandwidth for project work or innovation.

      Pros

      Everyone will agree, product is great. Good company if you need at least a year of management experience. Salary for middle management is average. If upper management is goal this is the place to be. Very high salaries and the good ole boy network that exists here will ensure you get paid and have a job and success is not a requirement.

      Cons

      Recent hiring of too many upper management positions has created a top heavy, disorganized group with little to no vision and strategy to achieve goals- especially in the sales and marketing departments. They are a total mess and getting worse.

      Pros

      Free Invisalign for the family. 401k matching. Insurance coverage is standard for medical companies. They have ESPP and the company’s stock is doing great!

      Cons

      Though we are growing, many here still have the startup mentality. If you don’t agree with everything upper management wants, they will find a way to push you out. Managers are promoted due to tenure instead of competency and then they throw their employees under the bus when things go wrong.
