Not what it used to be

Pros

This company still has some great people working for it. Smart, dedicated, driven, fun. You can learn a lot from some of the employees still working here.

Cons

The intentions of the company are good, but they are just really bad at execution. The internal systems are antiquated and buggy. For a technology consulting company they really don't have their act together here. The pay is not as competitive as the larger consulting companies, and with the recent economic downturn, the bonus structure is no longer lucrative either. In addition, the way in which projects are sold and staffed needs to be overhauled. As others have mentioned, there is a severe disconnect between sales and delivery. This often leads to understaffed projects and a lot of long days.

Pros

Some projects and technologies are arguably on the leading edge but the chances of getting on one of these projects is slim so you have to work at finding them and throwing yourself at them. Access to senior management is good and they at least give the 'appearance' of listening to what is being said. The employees are a fun group and there is almost always something going on to keep you occupied. A very loose working environment so perfect for anyone with a good sense of humor and the ability to deliver while still having fun.

Cons

Projects tend to get oversold to the point the technical team that has to implement gets put under the gun by both clients and management. The benefits are standard to poor here. There is a bonus plan that may or may not pay out, there is no 401k match or stock options (at least for newer employees). All you get is your basic medical/dental/vision and a non-matched 401k that is not better than your own IRA. Some hiring / firing decisions are interesting as it appears some good people are let go while some poor people are kept around.

Pros

There are some excellent people here. The benefits are good for a company this size. Some members of Senior Management are accessible. We occasionally get some good clients.

Cons

There is little vertical communication with Sales or input to the bidding process, resulting in unrealistic expectations. Infrastructure is scarce, ancient and broken. There are few opportunities for advancement unless you are a college hire.
