Pros

Very entrepreneurial environment. Great for go getters and young consultants with nothing but time. Salaries are fairly generous. Great client names for the resume. Great location in downtown Chicago.

Cons

No real continuing education budget - you learn on your own if you have time. They'll work you like a dog if you allow it. Cryptic corporate communication. Bonus structure convoluted and weighted heavily on company performance rather than individual performance. Projects deemed "meaningful" get the glory while most are virtually ignored. Too many intellectuals lacking management skills. Way too many VP's. Promotions based on insane hours worked or sales numbers. Company promotes and praises managers that have made people quit. Ridiculous executive business decisions have put great teams in toxic work environments for extended periods of time.

Pros

Acquity pays fairly well for entry level associates, but the catch is that you're going to be stuck at that salary level for quite some time. Very very intelligent group of people. Lot's of great conversation. Most every employee above the entry level is incredibly dedicated to their job. Very diverse workforce. Offers lots of challenging products. Never a dull day.

Cons

Acquity Group is run just like any other consulting operation. It's all about sales, finding the talent to fill a project, and repeat. Some people love the constant change, but for others you just get stuck having the same argument over expenses every month. Turnover is fairly high. Complete and utter lack of passion, everything is about good enough or "meets client specs". Deliverable could be complete and utter crap, but as long as it meets the client's specs, it's called done. How can you take pride in that? Fair number of entry level employees milking the salary to further education or some other gig that is more important. Unless you're working close to the windows, the floor moves up and down. Endless interruptions and a culture that demands you be connected 24/7. Everyone is type A++++++++, gets old real fast.
