Pros

-easy to get in (since they need teachers to replace those who left and got burnt out)

Cons

- trainers are lazy, they will give you so-called "homework" and never expand from there, they have a lot of trainers and majority are incompetent except for one or two of them who will gladly give you the time to extend and help you. The rest just want it to end as fast as possible so they can get their pay. - Bookings are controlled by the CS/TM and they will tell you it is your fault if your booking rate is low even though they never give you any bookings in the first place. - The point system is abhorrent you lose more points per complaint issued by the CS or the Student than you gain. You only gain 0.2-0.3 points per class depending on the day of the class (weekends give you 0.3 points) but you lose 20 points per complaint made. That is about 100 classes down the drain. Not to mention points are necessary for you to progress the teaching ladder. - Do not believe the lie that they will pay you for every slot you open because they will lock that slot making sure you don't get any for the time you wasted just sitting down and waiting for students. - You are required to do the job of another department if your tools/materials go south. Meaning you have to be the one who will have to waste your time and energy to fix issues which shouldn't be present in the first place if the CS team did a good job. - You are constantly placed between a rock and a hard place since their QA team is relentless to get you deductions or remove potential bookings by removing you from the list of teachers to potential students. - Student interaction is very low with the teacher needing to waste time and energy during class to sell themselves to get stars and flowers, which a lot of students forget or are not motivated, to the point it becomes frustrating. - Tools are clunky and their servers are unstable, you'll oftentimes run into problems with their website and you are penalized for it a lot since you have to dedicate more time and effort to make sure it works. - The time limit to post notes or after the class assessment is around 30 mins so if you forget to post one after a class due to sudden bookings (yes, some book classes 1-2 mins before the class time) then you are screwed since you have to have it unlocked by your TM otherwise it won't go into your paycheck. - There are more teachers than there are students which further dilutes the pool. - The working environment is unfair to teachers since their staff lie to your face with regards to the process, some of them are very rude too. - This is a stressful company since you are treated as a disposable object since they don't want to invest time and money in training teachers or at the very least update their materials, and most importantly their website. - In order for you to earn more here, you have to work more hours since they don't really increase your pay, and levelling up the company is a joke since it is a point system which fluctuates as well as having an evaluation period before you get to a higher tier which doesn't really do anything pay-wise. - You spend more time trying to improve yourself but you are set against a system which wants to see you fail, so good luck! - Their materials have a lot of issues, not just with how integrated it is to the teaching tools they have, but also with regards to basic tenses, grammar rules, spelling, punctuation, and so on. You aren't even trained on how to use these materials and aren't even informed on how many of these books they have. - Don't believe in their bonuses, they have a lot of bonuses but are only unlocked if you are a top tutor which requires jumping through hoops, not to mention said bonuses requires certain things to be completed which are not under your control such no student absences, no student cancellations, and also no vacant slots. - You can't select your own schedules since they are strictly regulated by the company, they require new teachers to be on the evening shift which means no TM support since their shifts end at 7:00 PM and no CS support since they are not available or cannot be reached during those times. So if you run into a problems best pray to god that it gets resolved on its own or it is something you can fix, otherwise you'll get deductions in points and with your paycheck.

Pros

NONE, they are beyond terrible and will waste your time and efforts ten fold

Cons

They messed me about. Offered me $6. I said this was too low. Eventually we agreed $13 for probation and then $15 after. No contract was ever offered and they manipulated my teacher score the day my probation was up saying I did not pass. Then they changed their minds but only offered $11 per hour. Communication was terrible. I was on standby 4 hours a day and only getting 2 classes max. They are unreliable and barely speak English. I had an injury and so could not work. When I tried to contact them 48 hours in advance to say I could not work they did not respond and then deducted my salary! They are cowboys! avoid at all costs!

Pros

Students are active and participate in the lessons, but they don't give good feedback . At first the staff are accommodating.

Cons

LOW SALARY AND NO INCREASE. The salary is low and it's hard to increase your salary even you're already a long-term teacher with them, because you have to get a certain no. of points. For every good feedback from your student, you earn 1 point, but it's very rare that students give positive feedback even they seem to be satisfied with your class. That's how hard to earn a point. NOT FLEXIBLE SCHED You have to give them your a-week schedule ahead of time, so if you have real emergency , you cannot cancel the class, otherwise they will penalized you , they will not be considerate enough to understand the situtation. and they have HIGH SALARY DEDUCTION DURING CANCELLATION OF CLASSES. Please atleast be considerate on the fortuitous events that might happen for the teachers. YOU CAN ONLY OPEN SLOTS BASED ON YOUR BOOKING RATE. If you have a low booking rate even if it's not your fault, they will still cut off your working hours. If you got a "below 80%" booking rate, you will not be able to open slots for 3days to 1week. The problem is when the students cancel, their tendency is to lessen your book ratings for the next week. TEACHING MATERIAL NOT APPROPRIATE (sometimes) Although teaching material is given to you, it's often the wrong level for the student and you are unable to provide an alternative. STAFF are not so ACCOMMODATING. Most of the Chinese TMs are unresponsive and lacks empathy.
