Pros

- Most of the students are really nice and friendly - Teaching materials are already prepared and ready to use

Cons

- TMs are sometimes difficult to deal with. They rarely respond to my concerns, and they would just message me if they wanted me to work for extra hours. - Unreasonable salary deductions/penalties. I received a penalty because they said that I wasn't able to attend a booked class on time, even though I have already reported that the student wasn't answering my calls. I have given them proof that I was trying to call the student for 15mins, and yet I still received a penalty.

Hello. I just wanted to warn fellow tutors about Acadsoc. Do not apply or work with them! I am sorry in advance, this is going to be a long post. A few months ago I applied and passed all requirements with them, did training, demo lesson, and so on. Well, not that simple. My first training was canceled because the trainer didn't show up and I had a demo lesson in which we had some technical difficulties, so I did the second one. But ok, that was not so bad and it was pretty fast. I started working and had a really low booking rate, so my TM (team manager) told me to do tests and training, so I did. I have spent endless hours in training and tests. BTW tests are horrible, so many spelling, grammar, and altogether technical mistakes. I did their TESOL training and test also, which is not really a TESOL test, but ok. After all that, my booking rate remained the same. I had about four or five classes in two weeks. Oh, I forgot, you are obligated to make a schedule for a week and you must sit and endlessly refresh the page/profile for four to eight hours because a student can book the class a few minutes before class and you don't get any notification. I started to give up hope, didn't want to make a schedule, and started to work other things in life. After a few days, my TM contacted me and asked me if I wanted to continue working. I said yes, but didn't want to make a new schedule, sit and endlessly refresh, I wanted to think about it. My TM has sent me a screenshot of my profile, I'll attach it. She contacted me again, so I asked her about my booking rate and she was honest and said that things will not get any better. I said ok, then freeze my account. So, after that, I wanted to get paid, it was not really about money (about 15$), it was more a principle thing, I just wanted to get paid for the work I did. I waited for a month, then contacted my TM on Skype, no reply, sent an email, no reply. Sent the second (threatening) email, then they referred me to another their "Acadsoc Feedback Team". I raised my concerns, they asked for a proof, I sent them proof. But nope, they sent me a screenshot of my profile where I actually own them 7.8$. I said that couldn't be right, they never answered, that was a week ago. So in conclusion, do not work with Acadsoc! Low booking rate, endless tests and training, and no payment.
