Pros

Good opportunities to work in different accounts/sectors/industries. Variety in the work itself, opportunities to travel domestic and internationally.

Cons

Wearing two hats can be hard, you have your client's best interests at heart, but also your AMS how do I maximize revenue hat on. The 2 aren't always the same. As a service provider, not all clients respect you and your professionalism, your specialist knowledge etc. Annual review process sucks - very subjective versus objective. Difficult to get promoted unless you are in "the click" despite your previous experiences elsewhere pre-AMS.Necessity to keep existing and new accounts serviced means that many new people have been hired, not all of them are at the level that we used to hire at.

Pros

AMS is an ambitious, thriving organisation with an upbeat and supportive culture. There are always interesting and challenging opportunities across a variety of sectors and different sized organisation. Its a business with integrity passion and a genuine interest in recruitment.

Cons

Due to the business model, performance management and personal development can depend on the client you are based at and who your manager is. Managing people is the main route to promotion

Pros

Good holiday allowance, good company to put on your CV

Cons

Consistently let down staff on bonus, a lot of middle management fail to inspire & can treat staff like they are school kids, salaries vary hugely, staff who are 'in' with the management are recognised whilst others doing a good job are not, annual reviews are conducted pretty poorly & dont really recognise your work (This isnt bitterness as I was promoted from one of mine). Promotion not really recognised in your salary... any increase will be minimal, contracts may state 37.5 hours per week but in most cases around 45 is expected even when you have been let down on bonus
