Pros

There are some very talented people working within the Bracknell centre but treated like dirt and overworked. Really do not have anything good to say.

Cons

Poor management, Senior management team have no idea what is going on at mid management level, only able to progress if you are one of the favorites, So called senior managers covering up for each other, treated like a child in school, Senior management speak to people in such a derogatory manner. One rule for one and not for others. I could go on and on but think the scene is set.

Pros

Compensation and benefits are fairly reasonable Career progression (but only if you work in recruitment) This is a good place to work if you are a recruiter, you will get good experience and will be able to be promoted quite quickly. You could even end up being a very under qualfiied director in a few years! Generally don't have to work outside of core hours

Cons

The company has grown so quickly that no time has been taken to ensure the correct structures or procedures are implemented, processes are embarrassingly poor, systems are appalling. Departments and teams don't take responsibility for their tasks and there is a constant battle to get even basic tasks completed, so everything is incredibly difficult because of this. Many employees including senior staff lack the basic knowledge, experience and intelligence needed to conduct their jobs, I expect this is because you can start as a recruiter with no qualifications and end up as director without really being qualified for it. This makes day to work quite challenging as these people have no idea what is going on or what anyone is doing. You get treated like you are a school child, you get chastised for not being popular enough, and company-wide emails 'telling off' staff for not following basic procedures. Non-existent on the job training, non-existent line management or support, no team working or social environment. Unfair annual review process, all based on how many people can be allocated a certain score, so even with glowing feedback and hard work, you'll get nowhere The way AMS does business is dishonest and deceitful; they purposefully hide things from clients. Their only interest is making money and lining their own pockets. I have witnessed unethical and dishonest practices several times. If you have ethical, morale standards, you will not want to work here. As many others have said, it is very cliquey and a case of you only get ahead if your face fits and you are friends with the right people. This is often discussed and complained about within the business, rather than based on any missed chances for me personally. Company values are very generic and not lived out by anyone, especially those at the top. People are not at the heart of what they do, not at all. Profit is at the heart of what they do. The suspicious looking 'positive' reviews defending all of the negative ones in recent weeks is hilarious; they look like they've been written by the same person. I hope this is not the case and these people are genuinely having a ball.. .Or living on cloud cuckoo land perhaps.

Pros

If you're going to work with them or for them, you'll need to know that their strength is they specialising in gaslighting and circulating internal propaganda and misinformation. If you're looking to master these skills, or you're interested in learning how to misdirect your employee base, then you'll love it at AMS!

Cons

Relentlessly cutting staff and making redundancies - No job security at all. They market "change" as a positive, when all they are looking to do is hide the underlying issues. (Cost-cutting, poor location strategies, off-shoring roles to low-cost regions whilst still trying to mask the loss of high-knowledge experts with their client base, E.G keep paying us the same and receive less so that we can maximise profitability for our shareholders). The past 2 years has seen the business scale back on their team sizes, remove valued and experienced individuals from necessary positions, whilst simultaneously funnelling the additional workload into already capacity stricken teams. The most recent changes to drive "operational excellence" and "efficiencies" looks to be targeting the removal of Sourcing professionals from their client org structures in a hope of cutting down costs, sorry, I mean, in a hope to drive operational efficiencies. (Because removing knowledge and experience on how to manage and source high calibre candidates definitely isn't something that should be prioritised in recruitment, right?!) And lastly, if you're based in mainland UK (England, Scotland and Wales) I wouldn't bother applying to work here. You need to be underpaid in Belfast or situated in Krakow, Pune or Manilla if you want to work here now)
