Pros

You do gain valuable and transferable experience operating and maintaining equipment that is used in most chemistry labs. I had some of the best coworkers. They're very accommodating to your schedule and very flexible for college students who take classes. It's fast paced and you stay busy, so your shift goes by quickly. It's a good entry level job that will help you get interviews in the future. Gain as much experience as you can on as much equipment as you can and move on.

Cons

Management is terrible, which leads to a lot of logistical problems and dysfunction. Favoritism is blatantly obvious. Hard work is taken for granted rather than rewarded. The pay is below market value for what you do. Turnover is insanely high because people either can't get along with management, or they see that they won't get recognized and promoted for good work because they're not in the good old boys club with management. Don't come here unless your a college student who needs flexibility with your schedule and entry level experience. This isn't a place to come to if you already have experience and don't stay very long because you won't get rewarded or promoted unless you're in the club.

Pros

People are nice and that is pretty much it.

Cons

Enormous amount of pressure that pushes you to achieve beyond your limit however you are not rewarded for your hard-work. Instead they will exploit you and disregard the effort you have put in by not paying you overtime.

Pros

The benefits are good. 401(k) is acceptable, but the Company could do better (4.5% max matching). Most co-workers are nice until their souls are broken.

Cons

Pay is the number one bad thing. Corporate says things like, "we have evaluated competitive pay schedules for market value," but if you're entry-level, you'll make more at Costco or Wall-Mart...without the safety hazards.
