Ok opportunity for short term growth.

Pros

Opportunity to learn and try to build things from the ground up. Able to create things because the company is newer.

Cons

Senior leadership either doesn't know or doesn't care about what really is going on in their function. No clear career paths - only a select group of individuals advance. Company operates as several small companies- none are aligned. Many projects - not enough resources to complete.

Bittersweet employer...

Pros

AGCO has great employee benefits.

Cons

Gigantic gap between management and their team members. Too much hiring and promotion based on friendships and knowing people rather than on attitude, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Opportunity for Growth

Pros

The pay is good. AGCO competes against John Deere and CNH (among others) for a finite group of specialized employees with Ag machinery backgrounds. There are some cross over opportunities from the Auto industry, Parts, Service, and Manufacturing industries. But nothing beats an employee with time around farm machinery - be it sales, marketing, or technical positions. AGCO has undergone tremendous growth over the past 5 or 10 years. With that growth comes the need to improve systems, sales skills, marketing, IT projects and technical projects. You will be challenged and allowed to make changes if your skill set allows it.

Cons

You get the feeling there are not enough people to get the projects completed. And there are a LOT of projects that need to be completed (and started) to keep up with the pace of growth. They value leadership and planning - more. They could put more emphasis on getting more people who get things done - i.e. implement the plans.
