Pros

The people! I found that I had much freedom to mingle with the other areas of the business and to assist those areas and vice-versa. At the end of the day you know what your responsibilities are, just get them done. Good benefits, vacation, very comparable to other companies.

Cons

I would like to have seen more 'rewards' for the non management folks. An incentive to strive for the excellence. There is really nothing to strive for except the fact you have a job. However, in saying that they do pay a good wage and I was fortunate to be able to work with all the departments and so my days were not boring. Sometimes its all what you make it. But do note, that if you don't do anything for yourself, like take extra courses etc... the company certainly will not develop you, in fact, you can take all the courses you want and still not be promoted.

Pros

Good pay for unionized technicians

Cons

Training procedures and duration could be better. Offered minimal class room instruction and learned more about online phone gaming than the actual job from the trainer. It is difficult to learn how to set up codes by watching another person. In the beginning of the job it would have been more beneficial to observe less and do more.

Pros

You are not trapped in an office all day. You get to meet people. The work is challenging; you never know what you will run across. If you want to move, it is possible to transfer.

Cons

The company does not care about its employees or its customers. they prefer to hire unskilled workers at a low rate rather than pay those who know what they are doing, what they are worth. The parts you need to do the repairs are never available when needed. managers expect techs to lie to customers on a regular basis. they are very sexist. I have only met one female tech in 20 years working there even though I have worked out of 8 branches. I heard there are 2 of them.
