Initial online assessment, followed by a technical interview where the interviewer coded while sharing their screen, and I told him what to do while doing "testing-based" coding, which involved writing out the tests that we expected our application to pass, then writing the code that was needed to make it pass.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at VMware in Aug 2022
Interview
4 Interviews in total:
1. Initial intake interview with HR.
2. Technical Screening interview with current TAMs. This interview was heavily focused on my technical knowledge.
3. Interview with the hiring manager. This felt more like a personality interview to see if we had the right soft skills.
4. Panel interview with a presentation. I was given 1 week to create a presentation on a provided topic to a panel and asked questions about the topic.

Question 1
How would you differentiate yourself on a call consisting of multiple other Technical Account Managers when speaking to clients.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2020
Interview
The interview process was thorough and insightful. I had a positive experience and they were transparent about the details for comp, benefits, job responsibilities. One area of improvement is to have candidates interviewed by one or two members of an outside team to broaden the outlook.
