I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Reston, VA) in May 2015
Interview
The recruiter was fantastic. He set up all content interviews, explained benefits, provided links where needed, etc. The recruiter was an excellent representative of the company. I interviewed with about 6 different people in various roles with the division to which I applied. All provided their own perspective on the role I had applied for, which was helpful. The process took about 6 weeks due to schedules. Most interviews were by phone and one was in person.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All interviewers asked basically the same questions of me: explain your experience, how do I envision myself in this role, what I have heard about VMware, do I have any questions. Typical interviewing questions; very friendly interviewers.

The interview process included 2 technical rounds. Both the technical rounds were equally difficult and basically included questions on the basics of OS. Basics of java and networks were also touched upon.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Raleigh, NC) in May 2015
Interview
Multiple phone interviews with Director Level executives. There was an initial phone screen with the hiring manager. Then there were 6-7 executives that I talked with. After the first round of interviews, I felt very confident that I would get the position. The overall process took less than 3 weeks to complete (from initial contact to offer acceptance). The accelerated process was because the previous person in the role left the company and the position needed to be filled quickly.

Question 1
Situational questions around how I would handle particular aspects of the role.
