Question 1
This was very informal interview she asked about some projects i worked on during my studies
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Montreal, QC) in May 2020
Interview
The interview process was one of the best I have seen in my career: very professional and transparent! After applying online, a Technical Recruiter (Anne-Sophie) reached out and became the point of contact along the way. She made sure to answer any questions that I had, to keep me updated and to provide feedback the entire time! It was a delight to interact with her and her team!
While the interview process took about a month with multiple stages (6 interviews), it gave me the opportunity to talk to a lot of people from Head of Product, Product Manager, Software Engineer, Project Facilitator, UX Designer to Director. Everyone has been very friendly and great to talk to! There were no trick questions; the interviews were focusing on my experiences, understanding my thought process and culture fit. I can attest that Unity is full of amazing people!
Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to get a job offer after the final stage but going through this process motivates me even more to join the company!
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Montreal, QC) in Jun 2020
Interview
1. Screening call with recruiter, 30 minutes
2. Exploratory call with team lead and global UX lead, 45 minutes
3. Portfolio review with 6 people (technical stakeholders, designers), 1 hour
4. 3 calls with 2 people each from the portfolio review, 1 hour each (one with the designers, one with the technical leads, and one with higher-level managers)
After this I had one more call with the team lead to review the job responsibilities as they are building a team and wanted to work with me to define my role. I received my offer about a week after that.
The process was a little longer than usual because of scheduling during COVID, as well as figuring out some logistic details before an offer could be made. The recruiter was very communicative and professional throughout the process, and available to answer my questions.
