Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interview questions were very specific to my experience and to the job that I will be doing.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Calgary, AB) in Sep 2020
Interview
The interview process consisted of 4 interviews over roughly a three to four week period. The first interview was a screening interview with the recruiter.
The next step was an interview with a Manager/Department head. Following this an online technical interview with online whiteboarding test, and then a final personality type interview with team managers.
I found the interview process was very polished and professional. I was constantly kept updated at each stage, and informed of what was expected for each interview.
The recruitment staff were a pleasure to work with, and everybody involved with the whole process were friendly and put you at ease during each stage which was great because at some points I was quite nervous - especially conducting an online whiteboard style interview which I had never done before.
Interesting technical questions around Unity and C# and also Software Engineering principles.
This was probably the most enjoyable interview process I have been through and left me with a great first impression of Unity as an organisation.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
This interview was for Senior SDE position for Data Infrastructure team. The interview process was very straight forward. Online test and then interview with the Senior member from the team and possible virtual onsite after that.
The interview with senior member was more based on Previous work experience and nothing too technical. The interviewer was based in Copenhagen and I thought I had wonderful discussion with him as it was not too much technical and I basically answered all the questions except for few tools experience which I believe was not a deal breaker as per the job description.
After two days I got an automated thank you email stating they are moving forward with another candidate. It was such a waste of time, and technically I do not understand how someone can gaze technical skills without actually discussing a technical problem. I believe they had already decided whom they had to offer and they were just waiting to hear back from the other candidate on the accepting the offer. I had to email recruiter on the confirmation as the automated email was very generic and I had applied for other positions as well.
The recruiter who was very responsive during the initial stages in the interview process and after I cleared the online test, stops responding immediately after my interview with the senior team member. I understand that it was no go for that particular role and I also understand they won't be able to provide feedback to all, but atleast to a candidate who has invested so much time in the process, they should at least as a courtesy clarify that the email was for the same position. Overall very unprofessional!!!
If you have an interview with the company, please make sure you have experience in all the tools that's mentioned in the job description. If not, you are just wasting your time in interviewing as they would have already decided whom to offer the position. One request I have to the management, please show some courtesy to the interview candidates, especially its difficult time for them with current COVID situation and people losing jobs. They would have dedicated their time and effort into the process, at least have that courtesy to respond to them. Positive or negative feedback is secondary, but provide them some feedback if possible.
I would never apply to this company again. Please do not waste your time in doing so!!! Good luck..

Question 1
Online test was tough, but managed to get the output and going through the medium level leetcode problems will definitely help in doing well in the online test.
Interview with Senior member from the team was very technical oriented with work experience and no live coding. Questions based on previous work experience.
