I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Montgomery, AL) in Dec 2014
Interview
Was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn. Ulta recruits heavily from LinkedIn. Once I passed her interview, I interviewed with the District Manager in person. Then I interviewed with the RVP via phone. The interviews weren't that difficult. Ulta Beauty is all about being Fresh, Fun, and Real. I came from a more uptight professional environment (which prepared me well to run a store), but you need to be able to adapt to a beauty culture as a leader.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic sales and management questions. Can you drive a sales strategy? How do you hire/fire? What are you long term aspirations?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Lakeland, FL) in Jun 2015
Interview
I applied online on a Saturday night and got a call on the following Monday at around 2PM. I was scheduled for an interview the next day at 9AM. The interview went very well. I was in a small office in the back of the store with two managers. They were both very personable and relatable. I was able to connect and joke with them easily. My interview was today, so hopefully I will get a call soon.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Portland, OR) in May 2015
Interview
I applied online, they called me a week and a half later and set up an interview for 3 days after the phone call. I came in, met with the hiring manager. The general manager just came out to introduce herself. The hiring manager interviewed me one on one. It was extremely brief interview was about 5 questions less than 10 minutes for the entire process. She said to wait for her call back that day. She called me 2 mimutes after I left the store lol, she said she really liked me and asked me to come in the day after tomorrow. I said I couldn't and she was really nice and said the following week would be fine too.
