I took the mock interview and was rejected. I applied in ESL and the interviewer asked me to give an example of a sentence using a verb in the 13th tense and an adverb clause answering the question "when". This was the first question off the bat, and she moved on when I could not respond immediately. The next question was about comparative and superlative adjectives. The topic was easier, but again, I was expected to answer this question very quickly without any materials or resources. If I was teaching or tutoring in real life, I would always double check my knowledge against textbooks or reliable online resources. Tutor.com expects tutors to have all or the knowledge in their heads and recite it immediately. This kind of tutoring might be for some people, but I imagine there are tutors giving out lots of wrong answers due to the pressure of answering quickly.
