I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Teach for America (Boston, MA) in Feb 2013
Interview
I found the interview day to run smoothly toward the beginning. The day began with a greeting from the two interviewers, and followed by a presentation of lesson plans (as expected), then followed by a group activity, and then finally a final one on one interview.
First there is a written application, next a phone interview, then an in person interview that includes a model lesson, a "group" activity, and a 1:1 interview. The written application is very straight forward--the phone call felt a little uncomfortable, because I could tell what they wanted me to say, but I stuck to my thoughts, and it worked! Don't fake it!
