I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (New York, NY) in Oct 2015
Interview
The Interview process was not too difficult. Basic interview questions, about yourself and how you solve problems. The first round interview was a panel, and the second one was one on one.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Washington, DC) in Oct 2015
Interview
The hiring process consisted of four interviews and one online assessment. I applied for the position on Targets website and was contacted by their HR department about a month later. They scheduled me for my first interview which was with an HR employee over the phone. It lasted about an hour and consisted of 4 behavioral questions and the standard, “Tell me about yourself” and “Why Target?” questions. At the conclusion of that interview I was told that I had to take an online assessment within 48 hours to continue on in the hiring process. The assessment was pretty standard, except for the deductive reasoning portion which I found to be rather difficult. About a week later I was contacted again by the HR department and was scheduled for an interview with a store team leader in their store. The style of interview was the same as the first with four behavioral questions following the STAR format. It lasted about an hour and forty minutes in a relaxed environment. Again it was about a week long wait before being contacted for my third interview with the District HR Manager at their local corporate office. This interview was very similar to the first two but a little shorter only lasting about thirty minutes. I was told it would be about a week before hearing either way, but I was contacted the next day to schedule the fourth interview with the District Store Manager. This to me seemed more like a confirmation interview than anything else. It only took about twenty-five minutes and consisted of only three questions.
Overall the hiring process is lengthy and repetitive, but not difficult. Make sure you practice your responses ahead of time and research your interviewer. I was able to find an article interviewing the District Store Manager about her leadership philosophy and what she looks for when hiring for a leadership position.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Sep 2015
Interview
I reached out to a recruiter in my area on LinkedIn after discovering they would be attending a job fair at my Alma Mater. I got a quick response from the recruiter and she schedule we scheduled a phone interview for the following week. She asked me a series of " Get to Know You" questions followed my behavioral situation type questions. After the interview I completed an assessment and she gave me tips on how to conduct myself for the next interviews. I had a total of 4 interviews within 2 weeks all of which per over the phone (normally they do try to schedule at least one face to face interview). I interviewed with recruiter, district team leader, store team leader, and group marker leader. All the questions asked were posted on this page and I reviewed every post and wrote down how i would answer the questions. In total I came up with about 20 question and answer total. My recruiter and reviewing the post on glass door were MAJOR factors in my success.
