I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
The interview process is very streamlined, had 3 interviews. phone screen, store manager interview and then interviewed with district manager and HR manager. I don't think they actually had an opening but they still run you through the process. The recruiter told me they constantly interviewed, if not she wouldn't have a job. That should have been the first red flag. If you are not between 21-25 and straight out of college there is a 99% chance that you won't get this job so don't waste your time. They don't care about experience or what you have accomplished. They want young fresh out of college grads for these roles.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Target
Interview
I was referred in by a current ETL who is well respected in the company. Contacted by a recruiter to schedule first phone interview which consisted of some basic questions (tell me about yourself) (why target) and 3-4 behavioral questions. I was well prepared for each of the questions that were asked and gave excellent answers displaying my proven leadership abilities, academic and professional success. I have completely baffled that I received an email that they are pursing other candidates. I was incredibly confident that I left a great first impression and that I would have a follow up interview. The only logical explanation I can think of is that I must have missed the recruiting window and they dragged me along the process for no reason other than to honor the referral.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Sacramento, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
4 total interviews. All utilize the STAR method. First with a regional recruiter, second with an STL, third with DTL and APBP, last one with HR Market leader and Group VP. Behavioral questions were easiest in the last two interviews - those felt more like a formality. Whole process took a little over a month.
