Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Sell the pen... please don't use the wall street quote, talk big, look em in the eyes, use body language, smile, say their name if you can.
2) Can you sell? name a time you sold something exceptionally well or solved a problem for a customer
3) talk about yourself (aka why should we hire you)
4) Where have you worked before and what did you do there? (focus on sales experience, relate everything to helping customers and selling)
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at TD (Victoria, BC) in Sep 2014
Interview
couple of rounds on the phone, one in person interview, very long hiring process between local branch and hr office. 3 months total in the whole running around from the time the first hr phone call to the first day at work
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Vancouver, BC) in Jan 2015
Interview
Enter in to the branch to give off papers - they rarely call u back if you apply online. Immediately got an interview. Went inside, sat down with two managers. They are extremely nice for this interview. They usually don't throw any curveballs at you - but if they do, you probably don't want to work at that branch anyways if they grill you too hard. Normally managers are very relaxed for the role of customer service representative.

Question 1
Asked me to sell a pen, what makes me different from other candidates - just typical customer service questions, like how you would take leadership and go above and beyond for customers. It's very straight forward - just act bubbly and positive and they'll hire you because they want that for the front line.
