I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Livingston, NJ) in Dec 2015
Interview
Applied online and was contacted via email to come into the store for an interview. When I arrived the person I was supposed to meet with was not there. The girl who did the interview was very nice but clearly not comfortable doing the interview. This job was posted as a full time job on the internet but is really a part time position. As soon as this came to light, the interview was basically over.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General questions such as "Tell me about yourself" and "What makes you right for this position?"
My interviewer deferred most of the questions to the person originally scheduled to meet with me, who never contacted me again. When I called for her I was told that they had moved forward with another candidate, but shortly after the job was reposted as a part time position.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sears (El Paso, TX) in Dec 2015
Interview
Applied online. Got email requesting interview within a day or two of submitting application. Horrible interview process. Although interview questions were easy the Sears employee(female) conducting the interview was not prepared with my information I submitted via online application to ask further questions regarding my experience. Highly unprofessional. I do not recommend applying for this position at this location( El Paso,TX.) Also, pay was only minimum wage $7.25 for 15 hours a week.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself. What do you consider good customer service?
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sears (Portland, OR) in Sep 2015
Interview
Applied on-line and was called in for an interview one day later. The interview went well and I felt I was a fully qualified (if not a bit over-qualified) for this part-time position. The job announcement stated the pay was DOE. At the end of the interview, I asked what the range was and the interviewer said it starts at MINIMUM WAGE! I was shocked and insulted as DOE typically means market rate. I was expecting this job to pay $11 - $14 per hour! If Sears had been clear on the starting pay in their ad, I would have NEVER applied. What a waste of my time and the interviewer's time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Usual interview questions pertaining to skills, experience and behavior. The interviewer was friendly and very thorough describing the work environment. She did a good job conducting the interview.
The job description included duties such as account maintenance, data entry detail, mail, filing, payroll processing and other clerical functions. Also tracking attendance, collecting on-boarding paperwork, maintaining payroll detail, applicant/associate files. Basically a mix of clerical and HR assistance.
