Design interview where you present your case studies - overall, I was fine with the process, except for Revolut’s public policy of "We hire smart people" - I think the company needs to clarify who they consider “smart” and what exactly they mean by it. I presented a fairly complex case - both in terms of data and design challenges - but the interviewer barely understood it and kept asking the same questions. If what you want to see is how I removed input fields and that made things easier for users and improved metrics - just say that. But if you can’t grasp complex, “smart” solutions and nuanced problem-solving, maybe it’s time to adjust your public narrative. So if you’re applying to Revolut, take the simplest, most straightforward redesign of a basic screen and walk them through the “right process.” Don’t waste time trying to prove how “smart” you are.
