I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Old Navy (Milpitas, CA) in May 2014
Interview
Found opening online, where it suggested I take an online course on being a sales associate, through which I got a guaranteed interview. It was a group interview, with about seven people being interviewed at once. The hiring manager was very cheerful, tried to make small talk (which i awkwardly took, the awkwardness of which I think was among the reasons they didn't hire me).
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Old Navy (Sugar Land, TX) in May 2014
Interview
I submitted an application online and received a call within 15 minutes. There was an initial phone screening, which was mostly basic questions to get a feel for your personality; this took about 10 minutes. At the end of it, I was invited to attend group auditions the following week.
The audition was your basic group interview, with me and three other girls. They try to emphasize making it fun, which is why they call it an audition instead of an interview, so we played a few nonsense games. It's all about showing off your personality, so they're looking for big, bright extroverts, mostly. It also included a tour of the store's departments, and the final test was the sales portion. We were given a situation and location, and you're asked to build an outfit from head to toe all from store merchandise and sell it to them. Use lots of descriptive words and be enthusiastic!
After the interview, I received a call a couple days later asking me to come in once more and speak with the assistant store manager, which only took about 5 minutes, and he offered me the position.
Applied online. Receieved a callback the very next day.
1st interview- 10 minute phone interview
2nd interview-group interview with five girls (including myself). Store manager asked if we knew about the store's history, drew & created an illustration of an Old Navy Tee Shirt design to produce and sell. Presented a significant item and explained why it was important to us. Created an outfit from rolling two die for an occasion & attempted to sell the outfit to the group.
Was told that we would receive a phone call by the next Tuesday if chosen for another interview.
3rd interview-Was smooth. Another manager asked me a few questions to get to know about me, asked if I knew anything about Old Navy's history, gave me a few scenario questions, asked if I had any questions. Then she offered me the job! Process took about 1 week!
