The process took 4 days. I interviewed at New York Life in Apr 2011
Interview
I completed 4 rounds of interviews for this job. First, I met with a managing partner and discussed my qualifications. I had many questions about insurance sales, and the managing partner answered each one effectively. After the initial interview, I met with him again and he broke down the employee compensation for me. On the third day, I met with the person who is in charge of new employee training. He discussed with me the different phases of training that all New York Life agents go through in their careers. On the final interview day, I was offered the position.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at New York Life (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2011
Interview
Multiple interviews in a single day. Met with 5 different staffmembers that I would be working with, and also videoconferenced with the VP of Corporate. All friendly, helpful, and were upfront about what the job was like. I think the biggest suggestion would be for you to go in prepared to answer questions about customer service, how to deal with people, and also be likeable. Leave an impression with them that you are someone they could get along with around the office. That is really important to them.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (Boston, MA) in Jun 2011
Interview
One of the Partners found my resume online and contacted me. We had an initial phone screen and then a preliminary one on one interview at the Boston (Waltham) office. I have a second interview scheduled next week.
